South Union Shaker Village Museum-Auburn, Kentucky

This meticulously preserved historic site offers a deep dive into the unique communal lifestyle and “Southern Shaker” culture of the 19th century.

Founded in 1807 following the religious fervor of the “Great Revival,” this community once spanned 6,000 acres and hundreds of buildings, standing today as a testament to their dedication to simplicity, equality, and innovation.

Through my lens, I aimed to highlight the craftmanship of the Shaker community, creating images that celebrate their enduring legacy and unique way of life.
